# TransitSync

TransitSync took the next event in my calendar, worked out how to get there, and told me when to leave.

[Routing service source](https://github.com/Slaymish/transitsync-routing)

Independent prototype development. Python, Flask, Google Calendar and Metlink routing.

![A month grid with a red route running from the first day to a departure cell.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/qnuj1c4o/production/cbac4bad8e8992eaebf33abb50e7e6b462291be0-1600x900.png?w=1280\&q=80\&auto=format)

The event already has a destination and a time, which beats an empty search box as a starting point for routing. Geocoding and nearby stop lookup connect the written address to the network.

The routing itself is a separate Python package and that part is public. The calendar integration and frontend aren't.

## State

A working prototype and a public Wellington transit package. The hosted version never shipped.
