# Lumen

Lumen connects an Obsidian vault to a local research backend, so related notes surface while you write and reports come out of what's already there.

[Source code](https://github.com/Slaymish/Lumen)

Independent plugin and backend development. TypeScript, Python and local model inference.

![Lumen’s actual research form in Obsidian, showing question input, sub-questions, vault and web sources, and memory controls.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/qnuj1c4o/production/94a5e0191782616c6a3cc0ff81e1f7262fc6acd2-1600x1200.png?w=1280\&q=80\&auto=format)

The plugin talks to a Python orchestrator split into ingestion, retrieval, inference and memory packages, and the local model streams progress back to the interface.

Citations get checked against source blocks before a report is shown. Everything stays on the machine.

## State

A released plugin and backend with note surfacing, report generation and source checks.
